You know what I never hear in regards to the antivax movement when they’re desribing the changes they see in their kids? Ive never ever heard anyone say “after a week he stopped making eye contact, which is fine but is a noticeable difference” instead they say “after a week he stopped looking people in the eyes and It was heartbreaking.” they dont ever say “my kid doesn’t smile very much, instead they flap their hands to express that they’re happy”, instead they say “my kid stopped smiling, and only did bizarre things like flap their hands which was very worrying and oh it’s so HeaRtBreaKiNg to never see your child looking happy” they dont ever say “she became more engrossed in activities so didn’t answer when I called her” instead they say “she stopped listening to me, she lost her ability to hear, she didnt obey my commands”. They never say “my kid started to show more visible autistic traits after being vaccinated” without adding something about the light dying out of their eyes or the happiness and life draining from them and that’s fucking bullshit. Thats how I know the movement is just about fuelling ableism and nothing else.

y’all are like “ooh everyone is beautiful” “ooh everyone deserves to feel hot” and then three seconds later you’re making fun of people who cover their acne with makeup and people who haven’t mastered winged eyeliner yet like grow the hell up you don’t get to pick and choose times to be body positive
